The stings & things mission is to make high quality music, song, mp3s (mp3z), wav, sound effects and samples freely available to all users. These can be used as windows themes, backing music, for productions etc. Music is created in my state-of-the-art 64-track digital studio.
I have a large archive of jingles & music that I'm beginning to make available here.

Hi, and thanks for visiting. Stings and Things is my personal project to make original music freely available.

Ever since the age of twelve I've been writing and creating a huge archive of jingles and tunes - some of them on pretty dodgy equipment too!

In fact, I might be one of the only people to use a Sinclair ZX81 live on stage as a synthesizer!

I also presented hospital radio for many years.

It was always my ambition to write music for a living, even though so far it hasn't worked out that way! So you can consider this site a result of that passion

Having said that, I've been lucky to have the odd success along the way. In 1986 my school band made it to the finals of "song for health" (see opposite - I'm the one with dodgy socks on keyboards)

Soon after I won a music scholarship and the opportunity to write/perform for stage and choir.

Then at university my music was revolutionised with a small yamaha keyboard with built-in sequencer - now I could write pop!

With my new toy I recorded an album "Fractions", while for my studies I built a drum machine from a motorola 68000 processor, and programmed transputers to play MIDI (it never caught on).

Throughout the 90's I've been writing for stage and theatre, as well as producing spoken voice recordings, jingles and montages for use over the phone.

In 2001 I finally got round to entering "Song for Europe", and was astonished to get into the last 30 in the UK, so I'm hoping this year's entries will do better!

I'm also a member of the British Academy of Composers & Song Writers.

I hope you enjoy the files! - nik
